Learn to make mouthwatering Pizza and scrumptious Gelato just like the Italians do - join our late afternoon class!

Our expert chef will introduce you to the history of these glorious Italian creations and teach you all the know-how you need to make them yourself.
This easy and fun experience is perfect for families – together with your children, you will learn about Italian culture and spend an unforgettable evening at the kitchen table!

Available Dates and Time:
November to February: Monday to Saturday at 3:00pm and 6:00pm.
March to October: everyday at 6:00pm.

Duration: about 3 hours


Group Size: 1 to 25 participants.

Class includes:

  • Pizza and Gelato lesson with a famous local Chef
  • Use of apron and cooking utensils
  • All ingredients for pizza and gelato making
  • Dinner with Wine Tastings (soft drinks for children)
  • Graduation Certificate

Meeting Point: at the “Florencetown Tours” office, Via de' Lamberti, 1 (corner with Via Calzaiuoli) in Florence, 15 minutes before start. This tour includes a short walking part. Please let us know in advance any special need or impaired mobility and we will do our best to accomodate you.

Cancellation Policy:
There will be no penalty for cancellations of course bookings communicated in writing to the organization at least eight (8) days prior to the booked excursion date.
For cancellations between eight and two days prior to the course, 10% of the fee will have to be paid; from two days prior to the course beginning, the payment of the entire amount will be due and no reimbursement will be granted.
No reimbursement will be granted to any client who is not at the place of beginning at the time established; similarly, no reimbursement will be granted to clients who who do not complete the course.

You will learn how to make tender, flexible yeast dough that stretches to almost paper-thinness, even the trick for a flavorful yet light tomato sauce. Even if you bake pizza in your own oven, these techniques are universal and using them really makes a difference. With the pizzaiolo, you’ll make your very own pizza, you’ll stretch it, sauce it, bake it, slice it. It will be the best pizza you ever tasted, and you made it yourself! After Pizza it’s time for Gelato: our chef will share with you why gelato remains Italy's favorite dessert and give you insight into the 'gelato culture' that continues to grow. You will learn about the main raw ingredients used for the base, and how to select the best products available according to specific principles, followed by a presentation and tasting of many of the flavors used in gelato making.

You will learn development and application of natural coloring, the heating and freezing techniques, and how they have different effects on the ingredients. What a great (and yummy!) way to discover the recipe of the world's most beloved dessert!

Price per person: € 49.00

Price for children from 6 to 12 years old: € 19.50 per child.
IMPORTANT - Please Note:
Our online order form for tours/classes allows the reservation of full price tickets only. Please book full price tickets for the children (ages 6 to 12) in your party. When you receive the copy of your order by email, let us know how many of these tickets are reduced price/children's tickets, and we will refund the price difference.  We apologize for the inconvenience but guarantee you’ll be delighted with this tasty experience.
