We invite you to discover with us Florence and one of its treasures: the Vasari Corridor. Our itinerary also includes the visit to the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most famous museums in the world for its extraordinary collections of paintings and ancient statues.

LAST CHANCE TO VISIT THE VASARI CORRIDOR: The corridor will be closed from the end of February 2010 for a major restoration work scheduled to last about 3 years. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to view Florence and its artistic pleasures on this exclusive aerial way, thought to allow the grand-dukes to move in safety without escorts, from their private residence to the government palace, and was a prestigious reason for the Medici.

  • Tour is in program on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
  • Tour will be confirmed only when a minimum number of 9 people is reached when museum does not host a temporary exhibition, 10 people when museum hosts temporary exhibitions; maximum 25 persons for group.
  • Professional guide in English.
  • Meeting with the guide 15 minutes before the entrance time in front of the David statue in Piazza della Signoria.
  • Short explanation about the Piazza and entrance to Uffizi Gallery for a 2 hours visit.
  • Visit will be made by foot.

ATTENTION: Tour will be confirmed only when a minimum number of 9 people is reached when museum does not host a temporary exhibition, 10 people when museum hosts temporary exhibitions, so we ask you to send us by email the name and fax number of your hotel in Florence, as well as your arrival date.

PLEASE NOTE: Charge to the credit card takes place the working day after the request; in case visit is not confirmed because of the minimum number of people needed not reached, we will refund the import charged for the visit.

Meeting with our guide and visit to the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most famous museums in the world for its extraordinary collections of paintings and ancient statues. Ordered by Granduque Francesco I and enriched by the contributes of many members of the Medici family, passionate collectors of paintings, sculptures and art objects, its paintings collections of the 12th Century and the Renaissance contain some of the masterpieces of art ever made, by authors like Giotto, Simone Martini, Piero della Francesca, Beato Angelico, Filippo Lippi, Botticelli, Mantegna, Correggio, Leonardo, Raffaello, Michelangelo, Caravaggio.

Also important the collections of German, Dutch and Flemish including Dürer, Rembrandt, Rubens.

Visit continues inside the Uffizi in the exhibition The mind of Leonardo da Vinci, with various designs and original paintings, a series of models of his most innovative machines and smartest experiments.

Next, we will proceed to the visit of the Vasari Corridor, a vantage walk long more than one kilometer, that links Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti going through the Uffizi Gallery. It was made by the wish of Granduque Cosimo I on 1565, for the wedding of his son Francesco with Giovanna of Austria, constructed by Giorgio Vasari, the Uffizi architect.

This extraordinary aerial way was thought to allow the granduques to move in safety without escorts, from their private residence to the government palace, and was a prestigious reason for the Medici. It contains now a collection of portraits and important collections of paintings of the 17th and 18th Centuries.
